My Updates

I Did It! My Fundraising Goal is Met!

Thursday 19th Mar

I’m so excited to share that I’ve hit my fundraising goal for the "Kilometers for Kids" challenge! My target was $300 for the Starship Foundation, and I not only reached it, I went over it! I’m now at $438.00, and I’m honestly so touched by everyone’s support.

Big shoutout to my family—my cousins and my sister—and the Starship community, who feel like family too. I’m so grateful for all of you.

Even though I’ve hit my fundraising goal, I’m not stopping here! I’ll continue walking until the end of March, and who knows, this might become a daily habit. And just because we’ve reached the goal doesn’t mean the giving has to stop! If you’d still like to support, every little bit helps and is always appreciated. Thank you all so much for being a part of this journey!

A New Routine.

Wednesday 18th Mar

This week has been a milestone for my daughter as she’s finally transitioned to a full school day! She's now enjoying a six-hour day at kindy, and it’s been really exciting for both of us.

On the mornings she's at school, I drop her off on foot and then head back home to get some things done or enjoy a bit of quiet time. I then walk back to the school around 11 to be there for her feed, which takes about an hour through her mic-key button. I’m really grateful to the support teacher and the whole team at kindy for making this transition so smooth. Once she’s done, around noon, I spend the next couple of hours walking around the area near the school, getting my steps in. Once she finishes up around 2 or 2:30, we walk back home and I’m done for the day. I'm really glad I get to fit that walk in!

Finding the Time: One of My Struggles During the March Walk Challenge

Sunday 15th Mar
One of the struggles I’ve faced during this challenge, especially now in Week 2(mostly weekends) of the March Walk Challenge, is finding the time to sneak out for my walks.
Balancing this challenge with family life hasn’t always been easy. Some days I have to wait for Miti or another family member to come and help with the kids so I can step out for a walk. Other times, Miti and I take turns. When he gets home from work or wherever he has been, that becomes my chance to head out while he stays back with the kids.
It might sound simple, but it takes a bit of planning and teamwork. There are moments when I’m tired or when the timing doesn’t feel right, but I remind myself why I started this challenge in the first place.
Even with the small struggles, we make it work. Every walk is a step forward, and I’m grateful for the support that helps me keep going.

Gratitude for the Support That Keeps Me Going

Wednesday 11th Mar

A HUGE SHOUTOUT to Waimoana's community team who have been by our side (especially for our warrior princess) all the efforts , help , and support that you all do never go unnoticed and i'm truly grateful for each of you. I pray for blessings for everyone, and i appreciate all the encouragement and kindness.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! <3

A Little Walk Before The Rain

Wednesday 11th Mar

As always I checked my weather app last night and this morning just so i can plan ahead, I saw that it was going to rain, and I usually prefer to stay inside on such days. But today, I decided to go for a walk anyway. I left the house around 11:49am, and even though it started spitting a bit, I kept going. I managed to walk 2.76 kilometers, and it felt great!

Walking with Gratitude

Monday 23rd Feb

I'm participating in the Kilometers for Kids walk and will be walking 85 kilometers during the month of March. This is my way of giving back to the incredible care my daughter received at Starship. She's healthy and thriving now, and we are forever grateful. I'd love your help in reaching my fundraising goal.

The Starship National Air Ambulance is New Zealand's only flying Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. It's on call 24/7. A specialist paediatric flight crew can be in the air in a matter of minutes. This is often the only way a seriously ill or injured can get to Starship. But they're counting on your support.

So, if you're able to, please consider donating - any amount counts and truly makes a difference. Thank you for being part of this journey!

Building Consistency one walk at a time!

Thursday 19th Feb

Consistency has always been a challenge for me since becoming a mom, especially when it comes to personal growth. It's tough to maintain habits that are aimed at bettering myself, but I'm working on it! One big motivator for me was signing up for the Kilometers for Kids challenge on the same day my daughter started kindergarten. Seeing her excitement as she walks into class every day pushes me to get out there and walk her to school. It's become my daily ritual, and I do it for her.
