The "Kilometres for Kids Challenge" is owned and operated by The Starship Foundation
(charity registration number CC24272) (Starship).
Terms
These terms and conditions (Terms) apply to your participation in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge, organised and promoted by Starship (Starship, we, our, us).
- The completion of the sign-up form on our website constitutes your agreement to be bound by these Terms.
- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Starship and supersede and cancel any previous agreement, understanding, and/or arrangement, whether written or not between you and Starship. We reserve the right to change these Terms from time to time by publishing the revised Terms on the Kilometres for Kids Challenge website: https://kilometresforkids.org.nz.
Please check these Terms on the website regularly for modifications and updates. If you continue to use our web system or provide any personal information to us after we make changes to the Terms, this will constitute your acceptance of those changes and our updated Terms. We will notify you when any changes are made to these Terms.
The Kilometres for Kids Challenge outline and period
- The Kilometres for Kids Challenge starts on 1 March 2026 and ends on 31 March 2026 (Challenge Period).
- To be eligible to receive a reward (Reward), participants in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge must meet the relevant conditions outlined below listed in the “Rewards” section of these Terms.
- Funds raised by participants and donated by participants' supporters will be directed in accordance with Starship's sole discretion to the area of greatest need at Starship, including helping to fund the Starship National Air Ambulance.
- All fundraising activity relating to the Kilometres for Kids Challenge must be completed by 11:59pm on 31 March 2026, and all funds raised by participants must be banked by 11.59pm on 31 March 2026 to be eligible for any Rewards.
- Additional donations can still be made after the end of the Challenge Period as the fundraising pages for the Kilometres for Kids Challenge will remain open until 11:59pm on 29 May 2026. However, such later donations made outside the Challenge Period will not be counted towards eligibility for any Rewards.
Acceptance of Risk
- While participating in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge may have health benefits, this event has not been developed with any individual’s particular health requirements in mind. Participants' involvement in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge is voluntary and at their sole risk.
- You should not rely on any information provided in relation to the Kilometres for Kids Challenge as an alternative to medical advice from a doctor or other professional healthcare provider. If participants have any specific health or medical concerns, they are advised to consult with their medical or healthcare provider before participating in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge.
Rewards
Any warranties, representations, conditions or obligations in relation to the Rewards supplied by Starship to participants (including any imposed under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the FairTrading Act 1986 and other applicable statutes) are, to the extent permitted by law, excluded.
3 x Massage Guns to be won
Participants who donate to their own individual fundraising page within the first 7 days of signing up will go into the draw to win one of three Hypervolt Go 2 massage guns, valued at $269 each. The competition finishes at 11:59pm on 31 March. The draw will take place on Wednesday 1 April and the winner will be notified by phone and email that day.
1 x $1,000 Travel Voucher to be won
Team captains will receive an entry into the draw to win a travel voucher valued at $1,000 for every person who joins their team. The competition finishes at 11:59pm on 31 March. The draw will take place on Wednesday 1 April and the winner will be notified by phone and email that day.
1 x $500 Grocery Voucher to be won
Every participant who has funds on their individual fundraising page by 11.59pm on Saturday 28 February will automatically go into the draw to win a $500 grocery voucher. All donations count, including self-donations. The competition finishes at 11.59pm on 28 February. The draw will take place on Monday 2 March and the winner will be notified by phone and email that day.
Agreement
I/We have read and understand these Terms under which any fundraising activities benefiting Starship need to operate.
I/We offer to participate in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge in accordance with these Terms.
By agreeing to these Terms, I/We acknowledge:
- My/our participation in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge is at my/our own risk.
- I/We will be solely responsible for all my/our activities on the Kilometres for Kids Challenge
website. - I/We will be solely responsible for all my/our activities on the Kilometres for Kids Challenge
Facebook Group Page. - I/We will not use the Kilometres for Kids Challenge website in any way that causes, or is likely to cause, the website or access to the website to be interrupted, damaged or impaired in any way.
- I/We will not use the Kilometres for Kids Challenge website to misrepresent my/our identity or affiliation with any person or organisation.
- I/We agree to comply with Starship's fundraising guidelines and all applicable fundraising and privacy laws.
- I/We agree to refrain from doing anything which may, in Starship's reasonable opinion, bring the goodwill, reputation or integrity of Starship into disrepute.
Withdrawal from Kilometres for Kids Challenge
- Starship reserves the right to withdraw its approval for your participation in the Kilometres
for Kids Challenge, Facebook Group and any associated fundraising activities if it deems
necessary to protect its reputation and/or ensure the safety of others.
Copyright
- All design elements, code and contents of this website are the property of Starship, or the
copyright owner as indicated. Starship grants participants in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge
a limited, revocable, non-transferable and non-exclusive licence to access and make personal
use of this website.
- Content over which Starship holds copyright may be reproduced in any medium for personal use only by participants in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge, without requiring specific permission from Starship, subject to the content being reproduced accurately and not being used in a misleading way. The source and copyright status must be acknowledged by participants. Starship may, in its sole discretion, request that participants remove any links to the website or cease using any material or content owned by Starship or sourced from this website, and upon receipt of such request, a participant shall immediately remove such link and cease to use such material.
- Content on this website which is not owned by Starship must not be reproduced by participants in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge without permission from the relevant copyright owner.
Use of Website
- By using this Starship community fundraising website hosted on the Funraisin platform you agree to be bound by the Starship Privacy Policy and the Funraisin Privacy Policy.
- Starship may disclose your information provided to it to Funraisin when support for the resolution of any issues relating to your fundraising page is required.
- Starship reserves the right to alter, suspend or discontinue any aspect of this website or the content or services available through it, including your access to it. Unless otherwise specified, any new features including new content and/or the release of new interactive tools or downloadable resources shall be subject to these Terms.
- Unless otherwise specified, the materials published on this website are presented solely for your private, personal and non-commercial use. You assume total responsibility and risk for your use of this website and use of all information contained within it.
- Starship makes no representations whatsoever about any other websites that you may access through our website, or which may link to our website. When you access any other website, you understand that it is independent of Starship and that we have no control over the content or availability of that website. Starship does not endorse or accept any responsibility for the content, or the use of any website you link to. Starship shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused, or alleged to be caused, by, or in, connection with the use of, or reliance on, any content, goods or services available on, or through, any other website or resource. Any concerns regarding any external link should be directed to its website administrator.
- Starship will endeavour to ensure this website is available and accessible but cannot guarantee that it will operate continuously, or without interruptions, or be error-free, and Starship will in no circumstances be liable for its unavailability to participants. Donation Refund Policy
- Starship will be happy to assist if you have incorrectly typed your donation amount and need to change it (and will refund any incorrectly entered amount).
- Please note that refunds will only be processed to the original payment method and may take a few days to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Use of information
- Your personal information will be treated as confidential and will only be used or disclosed in accordance with the Starship Privacy Policy and the Funraisin Policy.
- In addition to the uses set out in the Starship Privacy Policy, the information you provide us with will be utilised to:
- effectively engage with you by keeping you informed of your progress, addressing your inquiries, maintaining communication, and supplying the information you've requested in relation to the Kilometres for Kids Challenge.
- provide you with event specific information relating to the Kilometres for Kids Challenge.
- support and lift your journey as a fundraiser for Starship during your participation in the Kilometres for Kids Challenge.
