Kilometres for Kids – Why This Challenge Matters to Me
This March, I’m taking on a month‑long fitness challenge: Kilometres for Kids, supporting Starship’s National Air Ambulance — a service that flies critically ill and injured children from across Aotearoa to life‑saving care.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart.
My nephew was born with serious complications and given only a slim chance of survival. In the most critical moment of his life, the Starship Air Ambulance flew him from Waikato Hospital to Starship. That flight — and the care he received when he arrived — changed everything for our family. Without it, our story could have ended very differently.
To honour that life‑saving journey, I’ll be running 124km throughout March — the exact distance from Waikato Hospital to Starship.
